Class Photo

This term we have especially enjoyed taking part in this year’s ‘Take One Picture’ project run by The National Gallery. This year’s painting is ‘Tobias and the Angel’ and we have explored the painting through both artwork and animation. The painting shows Tobias and the Angel on a journey, and we went for a walk around the village, using digital images to show what their journey would have looked like if they had travelled through Timsbury!  We then made a class animation, bringing the story behind the painting to life!

We have enjoyed adding to our Storymaking in French repertoire by learning the story ‘Le Roi Tête en L’air’. It’s about a king who loses his glasses. He searches in many rooms around the palace before he finds that they have been on his nose the whole time! We have learnt the words along with the actions and have become confident performers! We look forward to innovating the story to make up our own version!

We have really enjoyed our topic on Electricity and Inventions. We have particularly enjoyed being very hands on and making our own circuits, experimenting by adding in different switches and changing the number of bulbs and batteries. To finish our topic we will turn into inventors for the day and make our own inventions that include an electrical circuit!

Photo: Tennis skills practice
We have been lucky enough to receive tennis coaching this term. We have learnt a lot of new skills, greatly improving our throwing and catching, and the way we hold the racket. We think we could have some Wimbledon finalists of the future!
